I know that was you God........

I love the treat of early autumn Sunday mornings, sitting with my feet curled up on my old well weathered chair on the veranda of our home.... still dressed in my winter pajamas. Slowly drinking my morning coffee deep in thought.... listening to the birds joyfully chatting hopping from tree to tree.... Relaxing in the quiet of the day...  Ones everyone is up we will be getting ready to go to church.

This specific morning my eye caught the movement of a little bird on a branch in a tree near me. I listened to the click-click sound it was making. With surprise and joy I discovered it was a little Red Breast Robin! My heart jumped with excitement.  I have not seen any of them since Spring time. I sat quietly smiling at it as it gave me a few extra moments to admire it's colors and beauty.

"Thank you Lord for blessing me with a special glance of my favorite little bird this morning!" my heart prayed. "I know that was you getting my attention!" I sat smiling taking in every bit of this God arranged moment. I could not helped but sense His presence and feel his love in a tangible way. What joy to know that He that created the universe was arranging a little bird in Western Turkey to touch my heart and minister His care. To let me know that I was specially thought about.

I know Him like that.....

During a prolonged furlough one time, I was walking on the beach on a cold winters afternoon. My heart felt lonely, distant as I was pondering over difficult situations in my life. Nature and especially the sea and beachfront have a special calming effect on my heart and soul. As I was walking, praying ..... staring at the pebbles and wet sand... my eyes fell on a string of sea grass that was twisted in the shape of a heart just laying there on the sand. How that little piece of seaweed ministered hope to the desperate state of my heart. He wanted me to know that He knew and understood. I felt so known and understood.

How in the cold of winter I had two beautiful bright colored tulips blooming on my windowsill. How every time I would stare through the window they would bring a smile to my face. In the dark and cold of winter they looked so happy and cheerful just blooming there ... being pretty and encouraging. In their way they were telling a story of "Blooming there where they were planted...." I knew their story were a chapter in my own life of where I felt unproductive and not felt like blooming where I was planted.  How I needed to make peace with my Maker knowing that there where He has planted me for now is the perfect spot to BLOOM! http://sittingonacactussmiling.blogspot.com/search/label/Bloom%20there%20where%20you%20are%20Planted

Oh how I remember a beautiful string of pearls from dear friends and a stone heart picked up among rubble on the beach ministering forgiveness to an unforgiving heart.
He knows just what we need..... how He loves us and draw us closer to Him through all the beauty and often pain around us. http://sittingonacactussmiling.blogspot.com/search/label/A%20heart%20of%20Stone%20%20or%20a%20String%20of%20Pearls

How I sometimes break loose with a smile and joyfully proclaim: "I know that was you Lord!" At times when I least expect Him to be there He cradles my heart with encouragement and interrupts my thoughts with His gentle ways.
